Alongside helps you understand a page by drawing explanations on a whiteboard. We access a page only after you connect it with the extension.
We process the connected page’s URL, title, selected and relevant text, and available context such as video transcripts or pull-request diffs. We also process your questions, board content, lesson history, and model activity. Google sign-in gives us an account identifier so we can keep lessons separate; we do not ask for your Google password.
We use this data to answer questions, draw and save lessons, operate the service, prevent abuse, and improve Alongside’s learning features. For free accounts, lesson and model activity may be used to train or improve models for these features.
Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Page context and questions are sent to our hosting and AI providers to generate explanations. Model activity is sent to our observability provider to measure and improve the service. Image searches send the search terms to the selected image-search provider. A source website receives a request only when you choose to import an image from it.
Lessons and model activity are retained so you can return to them and we can improve the service. To ask about or delete saved data, email harpinderjot36@gmail.com. You can stop new page sharing by closing the extension or leaving a page unconnected.
